Description
Experience the art of making your very own wooded paddle. In this workshop participants will learn and experience hand tool carving while shaping their paddle. You will learn how to use various hand tools such as shaves, files, and planes alongside an experienced instructor. This class is designed to be completed by the end of the festival and each participant walks away with a paddle ready for finishing at their home. Way better than that ashtray you made in kindergarten! Students will be allowed 1 1/2 hours per day of the workshop to work with the instructor. This is a great opportunity to learn a new skill and craft a paddle unique to you. Use your time at the event to try other paddles, talk shape/design, and try new strokes, then refine your blade each day to make it perfect. This course is being offered to Paddle 2 the People participants for a discounted price of $149 (regularly $275). No prior woodworking experience needed. Class includes all materials.
